2017 Blizzard Brahma Skis w/ Bindings
Are you looking for a high performance all mountain ski that can carve turns like a GS race ski, handle moguls and trees, and even venture into soft snow conditions? The 2017 Blizzard Brahma improves upon previous versions of the ski with the addition of carbon in the tips and tails. In 2016 Blizzard added carbon to the rest of their Flipcore skis. After skiing the carbon Flipcore skis from previous, most all of us were left longing for a Brahma with carbon as well, and now we have it! By adding carbon Blizzard has achieved increased stability and predictability. Often times carbon skis are associated with a “pingy” feeling, but in Blizzard’s Flipcore skis it actually helps reduce vibration and chatter. It also reduces swing weight, making the skis much more maneuverable. So, to summarize, it has increased torsional stiffness, reduced swing weight, and is smoother than the previous version. If all that sounds too good to be true, we don’t blame you for being skeptical, but we’re confident as soon as you have a pair on your feet you’ll agree with us. Want to read more about our thoughts on the new Blizzard Brahma? We have a full length review of the ski on our Chairlift Chat blog including a full, on-hill video review with footage of the new skis in action.

Packaged Perfection Review by TyB
Purchased the 2017 Brahma in size 180xm from Skiessntials 02/15/016. Due to inclement weather in Eastern Pennsylvania I have had limited time in this setup. Maybe 5-7 outings. So far, I couldn't possibly be happier.
Let's start with the process. To summarize I couldn't be happier than I was with Skiessentials. Ordered on a Monday, mounted, packaged, shipped, clicked in by Thursday. Good communication from Piper.
Next, the setup. Wow. Coming from a 173 Atomic Nomad Smoke with a 71 waist, these Brahma's feel stronger, more balanced, longer stiffer carving, while still offering some twitchy turn in the tips and tails. They are wider and longer than my prior setup and noticeably lighter, especially with the direct mount Marker Griffin bindings.
The conditions here have varied due to some strange weather patterns. Power throw slush on warmer days. Grip the hard pack great on colder days. Haven't ridden any deep powder yet but that's why I chose them, the versatility. Just as every review I have read, the best word to describe them is versitile.
I researched for months the 2016 Brahma and when I found the 2017 with the carbon technology and the astonishing pricing Sliessentials was offering the package for, I jumped on it. I only found 1-2 other online companies who had the 2017's (zero stores had them), but no other company had them for the price I got here.
These skis will probably the only set I use for the next 4-5+ years.
Great price, great service, 10/10 ski. (Posted on 3/6/2016)
