2018 Blizzard Rustler 11 Skis
The Rustler 11 from Blizzard is a brand new ski for 2018 and is part of their Freeride collection. The Rustler 11 is designed to excel in soft snow and off-piste terrain, although does retain some ability on firm snow as well. It uses a wood core with a partial metal laminate that's the full width of the ski under foot but tapers as you reach the tip and tail. These skis are designed to provide a fun and playful skiing experience. They are much lighter than Blizzard's All Mountain Freeride skis (like the Cochise for example) as they use a significantly reduced amount of metal and a lighter core. The Rustler 11 has a relatively small turn radius compared to Blizzard's other skis of similar waist widths. It has a 19 m radius at the 180 cm length, which certainly isn't overly short, but does provide a nice responsive feel. The tip and tail rocker profile and the light swing weight achieved by the lack of metal in the tips and tails gives the Rustler 11 a super maneuverable feel. You can throw it around in tight terrain really easily, but it still has enough power and stability to open it up and ski fast through choppy terrain. It's definitely a freeride all mountain ski that will be best on the feet of adventurous, playful skiers.
