2018 Nordica Navigator 80 Skis
New for 2018, the Nordica Navigator 80 is the slimmest of the line, and the most on-trail oriented. Intermediate to advanced skiers will love the responsiveness, stability, and ease of use that the Navigator 80 provides on a daily basis. Although technically an all-mountain ski, the 2018 Nordica Navigator 80 is most at home on groomers and firmer snow. We were very impressed with how the Navigator 80 held an edge on hard snow. At 80mm underfoot, the Navigator 80 is extremely responsive to your every input. The moment you initiate the turn the Navigator 80 seems to know about it. It is on the borderline of precognitive. The narrower waist and shorter turn radius combine to create this high level of responsiveness. Like the other Navigator series skis, the 80 features Nordica's new "Hex Bridge" technology. Nordica has taken a sheet of titanium and cut out hexagonal shapes so that the ski performs like it has metal, but feels like a traditional wood core. This Hex Bridge creates a stable platform that gives the skier confidence to go faster, try more technical terrain, and simply enjoy skiing more. With its light weight, easy turn initiation, and moderate shaping, the 2018 Nordica Navigator 80 is an extraordinarily simple ski. Most light skis are easy to ski, but most of them have foam or composite cores. This one has a full wood core, but feels like it has much less heaviness or bulkiness. For intermediate to advanced skiers looking to stick mainly to the groomers, the 2018 Nordica Navigator is going to be hard to beat.
