2018 Tecnica Cochise BT 120 Ski Boots
Redesigned for 2018, the Tecnica Cochise 120 ski boots are a marvel of modern ski boot technology. Slightly softer than its big brother, Cochise Pro 130, the 120 still has all the available bells and whistles. For advanced to expert level freeride skiers looking for a boot that is as capable uphill as downhill, the Cochise 120 is a phenomenal option. With a 120 flex rating, tech compatible soles, and customization options galore, the Cochise 120 is right up there with the best boots on the market. Slightly softer than the top of the line 130, the Cochise 120 is a great choice for lighter weight expert skiers, or for people that just don't want such a stiff boot. With a metal on metal walk mode mechanism, the boot skis quite close to a 120 should-it doesn't lose a lot of stiffness due to the walk mode. Whereas before, Cochise boot owners had to replace toe and heel plates depending on if they were touring or resort skiing. Now, the tech fittings are milled into the lower shell, so that if you have a tech (Dynafit) binding for uphill skiing, you can use the same boots as your alpine ski setup and not have to worry about sole swapping. Featuring a heat-moldable liner-that is also grindable-the Cochise 120 can fit your gnarly foot no matter what. The shells have pre-thinned spots that make it easier to grind and punch by a boot fitter. Four micro-adjustable buckles make it easy to tighten or loosen depending on conditions. Overall, the 2018 Tecnica Cochise 120 is a phenomenal option for freeride skiers looking for a capable uphill boot that rips downhill too.
