2019 Atomic Shift MNC Bindings
Ascending and descending has never been easier or safer. The all-new Atomic Shift MNC Binding is an entire pound lighter than the Guardian frame touring binding which is a has been offered for the past couple of years. Not only is the binding way lighter, it also puts your foot in a more ergonomic position for when you are going uphill. Many frame touring bindings push your foot farther from the fulcrum of the binding, which can cause the user to feel awkward and unnatural when skinning. The Shift MNC binding puts your toes closer to the fulcrum of the binding, resulting in a more natural feeling. Not only is the Shift MNC Binding more ergonomic, it also features two pin toe which reduces friction when skinning for better efficiency. This binding is quite different than competitor's tech bindings for it has adjustable din settings on both the toe and heel. This is made possible by the Shift's transforming design. When ascending, you click into the two-pin toe, but when you are descending you switch the binding into its other mode which is essentially a normal alpine binding with a din rated setting. The binding is Multi Norm Certified (MNC) which means the toe height can be adjusted to fit a bunch of different boot sole types, including ISO 5355 Alpine, ISO 9523 Touring, WTR (Walk to Ride) and GripWalk. Please note, you must have a boot with a Tech Toe Fitting for uphill use (touring mode). Grab this if you want to enjoy the uphill and safely hit backcountry jumps.
