2019 Blizzard Black Pearl 78 Women's Skis with Bindings
The Black Pearl 78 is the narrowest ski in Blizzard's new all mountain freeride collection. Blizzard has taken the success of the original Black Pearl, tweaked it, and is now using that name across a whole collection of skis. These new skis have slightly shorter turn radii than before, have a new more abrupt tip shape, as well as a lower rise rocker profile. The Black Pearl 78 is the most firm snow oriented of the bunch, providing smooth, fun, yet versatile performance on firm snow. It's best for skiers who are looking for a high performing all mountain ski that doesn't feel overpowering. The carbon construction keeps the weight nice and light, but still provides a nice responsive feel. The Black Pearl 78 is a great ski for cruising groomers, but it's much more than that too. The rocker profile and light swing weight makes it a lot of fun to ski in moguls and other off-piste terrain. While it's not really wide enough to handle true powder conditions, it will slice and cut through variable terrain quite nicely. If you want a little more width you'll find the same construction in the Black Pearl 88 and 98, although you lose some edge to edge quickness in the wider models.
