2019 Outdoor Retailer Snow Show Recap: Ski Preview // Ski Industry News
Last week a crew from SkiEssentials.com and Pinnacle Ski and Sports made the trip out to Denver for the Outdoor Retailer Snow Show. This is the premiere trade show for the ski and outdoor sports industry in North America. It’s a perfect opportunity for our staff to see next year’s gear and look out for exciting new products. With just about the entire industry in one place, it’s also a fantastic opportunity for us to chat with marketing managers, product designers, and other integral members of the industry’s biggest brands. If you want to have a finger on the pulse of the ski world, Outdoor Retailer is the place to be. The show is also flanked by on snow demos both in Colorado and back here on the east. We’ve already been testing 2020 skis for the past few months, and will continue to do so at these demos and throughout the remainder of the season.
A lot happens at Outdoor Retailer. It would be impossible to go through the nitty gritty details of everything that happens over the three day show. So, instead of taking you through details, we thought we would let you look through a series of photos from the show. To start, we’re focusing on skis. We’ll put together another article and gallery later this season covering soft goods, accessories, and more, but for now, let’s look at some skis. In the photos below you’ll see a selection of 2020 skis from a whole bunch of different ski manufacturers. See something you’re interested in? Let us know in the comments and we can give you more detail. Of course, we’ll be releasing more in-depth reviews of a lot of these skis over the next year, so keep checking back to Chairlift Chat for more information.
We often field questions about what it’s like to be at the show. It’s a fun, but busy environment. We put together the video below, once again focusing on skis, but we also wanted to convey a sense of what it’s like to be at the show. Like the photo gallery, we’ll release another video focusing more on softgoods and accessories sometime down the road. If you have any questions about what you see here or requests for coverage of other products, don’t hesitate to leave us a comment! Next week we’re heading to Loon to test more skis, and we’ll be releasing a full review of the new Volkl Kendo 88 as well. Keep an eye out for content from Loon and that review. See you on the slopes!
