Elan Ripstick 106 Skis

The Elan Ripstick 106 skis are an awesome setup for all-mountain powder skiing. They have the build, the shape, and the profile to ensure stellar soft-snow performance and better-than-expected carving prowess. At the crux of the ski is the wood core with its tubelite technology. By inserting two carbon tubes on each side of the ski, Elan has drastically increased the longitudinal stiffness of the ski while reducing weight. These 5mm thick tubes run the length of the ski and provide damping, rebound, and power into and out of the turns. At 106 mm underfoot, these skis have the beef necessary to rip huge turns in everything from untracked bowls to chunked-up crud at the end of the day. Furthering the ski's adeptness at mixed and soft snow performance is the Amphibio rocker profile that is a fairly new and genius way to get the ski to float over soft snow while retaining its hard snow abilities. They feature a cambered inside edge and a rockered outside edge. Because of this, there's a dedicated right and lift ski. As a result, the inside cambered edge holds really well on firmer snow, and in softer snow conditions, the rockered outside edge floats over the powder and crud. As a result, the side to side sensations that you get out of these skis are second to none. This rocker profile combined with the shape and construction make the Elan Ripstick 106 skis the perfect tool for all-mountain powder skiing.
