2019 Elan Ripstick 96 Skis

Returning for its second year, the 2019 Elan Ripstick 96 gets a cosmetic upgrade and that's about it. Strong advanced and expert skiers will glean the most performance from these skis. They certainly live up to their name, as ripping sticks. Elan is a sneaky manufacturer that likes to put in some innovative technologies out there in their products. From the days of the parabolic ski to today's Amphibio technology, Elan is not afraid to put some new ideas out there into the world. As the flagship model of their Ripstick line, the 96 is the most versatile of the group. For a ski without metal, it sure performs like a high-end product. The wood core features tubelite technology that has 5 mm thick carbon tubes running along the sidecut of the ski to provide stiffness without adding weight. This really makes the edges engage and feel like a metal-laminate ski. You'll get a great rebound and feedback when you engage the edges. The Amphibio technology has a rockered outside edge on the tip and a cambered inside edge that makes floating and turning through soft snow a new and engaging experience. The skis float like much wider skis, but carve like narrower, trail-oriented boards. As a result, you get the best of both worlds in an attractive and lightweight package. You'll be able to make turns like you never have before on the 2019 Elan Ripstick 96 skis.
