Atomic Backland 100 Skis

The Backland 100 is a new ski for the 2021 season from Atomic and takes the success and recipe of the Backland 107 and repackages it in a narrower ski. Just like the 107, it's very light, just 1400 g in the 179 cm length. Atomic puts it in their touring collection, which is a great application for it, but we've skied it quite a bit within the resort too and it feels right at home in that avenue as well. That makes it a fantastic ski to match with the Atomic Shift binding, giving you the ability to efficiently tour in the backcountry, while still having a ski that can rip some turns in the resort. The stability, edge grip, and responsiveness that Atomic achieves while keeping the weight so low is quite impressive and is largely thanks to their Ultra Power Woodcore and Carbon Backbone. Those materials provide good responsiveness and a snappy feel without feeling heavy on your feet or being too demanding. HRZN Tech in the tip increases the ski's float, and also improves maneuverability in softer snow conditions. The Backland 100 might not be powder-ski width, but it certainly handles softer snow conditions well. Whether you're planning on using it as a touring ski or just a lightweight resort ski, you'll be impressed by the lightweight feel and energetic, responsive performance.
