Atomic Backland 98 Womens Skis

Following the success of the Backland 107, Atomic has given us the gift of the Backland 98 for the 2021 ski season. The Backland series is home to lightweight ski that are designed for soft snow and backcountry touring, but this new 98 is more versatile than we've ever had before and feels pretty darn good in the resort too. Atomic uses an Ultra Power Woodcore with their Carbon Backbone technology. That results in a ski that's quite lightweight, but still stable, responsive, and surprisingly powerful given the 1120 g weight (for the 164 cm length). Seriously, that's super light, but the Backland 98 W feels stable and confidence-inspiring, even when you're on firmer snow conditions. While we would strongly recommend it for anyone choosing is as a touring ski, we also feel it's versatile enough and well-rounded for the resort too. In that sense, it's a pretty perfect candidate for the Atomic Shift binding as that binding crosses over between backcountry and resort use in a similar fashion. Regardless of where you plan on spending most of your time, the Backland 98 W is lightweight, energetic, and playful, but can handle some higher speeds too. The HRZN Tech tip also enhances its feel in soft snow, and it floats quite well for its 98 mm width.
