2021 Kastle FX 106 HP Skis

For freeride enthusiasts looking for a precise, high-performance ski, the Kastle FX 106 HP skis are the right tools for the job. Wide enough for some really deep powder, yet still narrow enough to function as an all-mountain ski when the conditions and terrain dictate as much. Normally, we're viewing the 106 mm shape as a true powder ski, but since Kastle does such an amazing job at getting their skis to feel like precise, high-performance machines, we're giving them more of a blurred line into the all-mountain sector as well. Thanks to the wood core, consisting of two zones, Kastle is able to fine-tune the performance of the ski to match the intended application. The inner, or central, chord of the ski is made from poplar and paulownia wood stringers, set on a vertical, and this allows the ski to flex more naturally underfoot, and makes for a smoother ride through the crud and mank, and also keeps the weight of the ski down. The outer portions of the ski consist of vertical stringers of poplar and beech, allowing for greater edge control and grip for when the snow gets a bit sketchy. The inner core is wrapped in a fiberglass sock, for the lack of a better term, so this part of the ski truly anchors the performance of the ski as a whole, allowing for awesome feedback, no matter the terrain or conditions.
