So, I have decided to go with the Experience 92Ti. What size should I get? 66 years old, 5'10", 185 lbs. Been skiing Burke Mountain for, hard to believe, 55 years, 40 days per year. Will happily ski anywhere it's good....groomers, steeps, mogels, woods. Don't ski as fast as I used to but still like to lay in some non-stop top to bottom screamers when the conditions and crowds allow. Wouldn't mind a bit more "float" on the softer snows. Been on 172cm Experience 88's these last three years and was going to just sign up for a new pair but the 92's caught my eye. So, please confirm that I will love them..... and, go with 173 or 180 ?
Oh, also, the DPS Base treatment sounds like such snake oil, can it be true?

Hi Robert!
I loved the 92's when I skied them last year, and I was on the 180, even though I'm 6/2 220, I found them to be quite stable. I wished for the longer length, so I'd take the 180 if I were you unless you liked the shorter E88, in which case I don't think the 173 is the wrong size. As far as Phantom base treatment, this is now our third year using the product, so the longer-term feedback is starting to trickle in, and our process is getting a lot better too. I had some of the first product on a pair of my skis, and I certainly didn't find them to be faster, but the bases did hold up longer without wax, so while there is something to it in terms of keeping your bases from becoming dry/fuzzy, I'm certainly not convinced that it's faster than wax. Full disclosure: I don't wax my skis anyway because here in VT, the snow is usually pretty darn quick as is! Have fun!
