Black Crows Camox Freebird Skis

If you've skied the Camox, it's likely you've loved the Camox. It's no different with the Freebird version, just a bit lighter and with less of a tail. The Black Crows Camox just hits a little bit differently. From the mid-fat width to the poppy camber and the slight twin-tip feel, the Camox has something for everyone. As clean and fun as a ski can get in the alpine world, the backcountry version is right up there in terms of fun and energy. It's really all about that camber in these skis, setting them apart from not only the rest of the skis in the Black Crows line, but the backcountry and alpine touring market as well. You just get a ton of pop and snap out of the ski, even when it's given the Freebird build of a lighter poplar and paulownia wood core. Thanks to Black Crows' commitment to individuality of each ski, the Camox carves out that playful, energetic role with the chops to back it up. At 96 mm underfoot, the skis generate a 17-meter radius, showing that these things like to get from edge to edge quickly and efficiently. Not as fat as some of the Freebird brethren, the Camox is still an active floater, capable of a lot of different turn shapes and styles. These are true 50/50 skis in every sense of the term. From the frontside at the resort to a week-long hut trip in the backcountry, the Black Crows Camox Freebird is a fun, utilitarian ski that has a strong following.
