2022 Black Crows Corvus Freebird Skis
Black Crows Corvus Freebird Skis
Advanced and expert skiers looking for that hard-charging backcountry ski needn't look further than the Black Crows Corvus Freebird skis. This company does such a great job making different and unique skis, and the Corvus is one of the best examples. First and foremost, this thing is pink. There's no mistaking or losing these things. In the Alpine world, the Corvus is a hot rod. These things are sharp looking and fast skiing. With a 107 mm waist width and a fairly tapered shovel shape, these are really good floaters. A 21-meter turn radius and a relatively flat tail ensure that the back half of the ski is all business. Most skiers who get on a Corvus note this difference between the front and back half of the ski, allowing for a split-personality type of ski. On one side, the skis are floaty, drifty, and fun, and on the back side, they love to hold tight and make sure you're locked in to a longer turn, ideally seeking speed that can be found around each and every corner of the mountain, whether you're in the resort or way out back. The Freebird application of this ski is fantastic, as it allows skiers looking for that deeper snow ski to have the lighter weight without losing much of the stability that the alpine version provides. Advanced and expert skiers will glean the best performance out of these skis, but for a true freeride touring ski, these have a lot of different applications.
