THE K2 MINDBENDER 90C AT 156 CM --- VERSUS THE ELAN RIPSTICK 88 AT 154 OR 162 CM. WHICH WOULD BE BEST SKI FOR ME. AS I STATED EARLIER, I AM RETIRED + IN AGE, WAS INTERMEDIATE BUT HAVE NOT SKIED FOR 4 YRS. SKIED ON VOLANT MID-LEVEL ZIP KARVE. SKI MOSTLY BLUE GROOMED TRAILS IN CRUDE AND HARDPACK IN WISCONSIN BUT GO OUT WEST ONCE A YEAR. WANT A VERSITAL EASY TURNING SKI. I DO NOT SKI THE FALL LINE BUT MAKE LOTS OF LONG TURNS DOWN THE HILL. Hi Edith,

Already have recommended the K2 Mindbender in a previous question. Out of these two, Ripstick 88 all the way! An SE tester favorite, its a fantastic one-ski quiver that is just so versatile in most conditions and terrain.

I've had my eye on the Ripstick 88 w for a while now. Might pull the trigger, but I'm torn between 162 and 170 length. I'm an east coast skier, prefer quick tight turns, moguls, trees etc. over speed. I'm not as aggressive as I used to be, but I ski the whole mountain. I'm 5'6" and 180 lbs. Would you go up or down? Currently skiing Black Pearls 88 at 166cm.
Thanks!

HI Catherine!
While your stats may point to the longer length, your application and preferences lean to the 162. If you're looking for a lighter, more maneuverable, and dare I say, funner version of your Black Pearl, the Ripstick in the shorter length will be great.
