Elan Ripstick 88 Womens Skis

The Elan Ripstick 88 women's skis are all about having all-mountain fun. They're light, quick, and incredibly versatile, so if you've been searching for that one pair of skis that really does it all, look no further than the lovely Ripstick 88. Built with a tubelite wood core with carbon, the skis don't venture much into the heavier realm of skis; they're more content to be in the lighter weight division, and for many skiers, that's a welcome thing. They're able to create the stability and power of metal by using carbon in some interesting ways. On either side of the ski, Elan inserts thin carbon tubes that run alongside the sidewalls. Since the tubes are in a three-dimensional format, it makes for an infinite amount of ways and directions to flex. Rather than a two-dimensional metal sheet, the tubes give response and feedback in very unique ways. Carbon Line Technology puts an extra strip of carbon mesh over the inside edges of the skis, and since these are right/left specific, it works very well in this application. For harder snow, this extra strip of carbon makes a big difference in the way the ski grips to the firm stuff. Less chatter and waver, the carbon does a fantastic job at giving the ski that light and maneuverable feel while keeping the weight to an absolute minimum. The Elan Ripstick 88 women's skis are a fantastic choice for intermediate all the way to expert skiers.

Hi, my girlfriend is looking for a new pair of skis. She wanna do 50% on pist and 50% off pist with the shift binding (also touring). She is a intermediat skier. We live in Austria. She would love to know which ski she should take. She is thinking about the Elan 88, Salomon QST 92 and the Blizzard Black Pearl 88. Which one would you recommend?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Michael,

All are great choices! But the Elan really shines over the others and is a SE Tester favorite. A perfect one-ski quiver for all conditions and all terrain, this ski really has no weaknesses and is easy to ski and is very approachable. Front side, backside and everything in between, this ski can make a variety of turn shapes at any speed and appeals to a wide variety of skier types. Its also a great floater in powder for a 88mm waisted ski.

Have fun!

Hi Edith!
We do not, and likely won't until late summer. Check out this Armada as a suitable substitute:
