2022 Head Kore 117 Skis w/ Marker Griffon 13 ID Bindings
Head Kore 117 Skis with Bindings
The Head Kore 117 is a surfy powder ski that offers seemingly impossible power for how light it is. The Kore series has been around for a few years now, but this year it comes back with a bit of a new design. Head has made the Kore even lighter this season, which is hard to believe given the fact that they were already light to begin with. The core profile is thinner, and instead of using Koroyd, they are now using a new damping layer that provides the same stabilizing properties featured in prior models. Aside from the lightweight compounds (including graphene and carbon) the Kore 117 uses a Karuba and Poplar wood core for a lightweight blend of power and snap. At 117 millimeters under the boot, there's no hiding the fact that this thing is meant to surf the deep stuff. Rocker in the tip keeps you up and out of even the deepest conditions while a bit of tail rocker provides easy release for effortless maneuverability. A ski this large usually entails quite a long turn radius, which is definitely the case here. The Kore 117 boasts about a 25-meter radius which is great for going straight and fast, but it allows you to dictate the type of turn you want to make, particularly in deep snow. Offering what is arguably one of the best strengths to weight ratios in this category, the Kore 117 is the perfect powder ski for hard-charging skiers that want all the power and none of the weight.
