Head Kore 99 Skis with Bindings

The Head Kore 99 hit the scene as a unique all-mountain ski that boasted a perfectly struck, yet seemingly impossible balance of light weight and power. This season, it comes back with a slightly revamped construction that only further solidifies it as the ski that offers arguably the best strength to weight ratio out there. The Kore line didn't change dramatically, but subtle updates to construction make them lighter and smoother. The Karuba wood core that we're all used to is what gives the Kore 99 its snappiness. That core then gets topped with a layer of Carbon Fiber, a layer of Graphene and instead of Koroyd like the previous models, Head now uses what they are calling their Damping Layer which is lighter and more effective at reducing vibrations. The result of the new construction is a light and smoother feeling ski. We still get a nice stiff flex patter out of this ski, so it still feels largely the same, but it just skis a bit better. We see the same rocker and taper profile as the last rendition of this ski. Smooth rocker up in the tip, a bit of rocker in the tail and a defined tapered shape to both ends of the ski. Even though this ski loves to carve, these design attributes give the ski a ton of added maneuverability that wouldn't be able to be achieved on just light weight alone. From groomers, to zipper lines in the bumps, to a moderate powder day, these skis love it all and handle it with comfort. If you want a ski that provides a featherweight profile and exudes the confidence to handle any terrain or condition, the Kore 99 would be a fantastic option.
