Salomon Escape 68 Outback XC skis with Bindings

The Salomon Escape 68 Outback XC skis with bindings are a fantastic choice for adventure-bound skiers who want to do a little bit of everything out there in the Nordic land. From in-track skiing to out of bounds bushwhacking, the Salomon Escape 68 Outback skis with BC bindings can handle a lot of different conditions and terrain. Built and shaped for adventure skiing, the 68 mm tip of the ski can offer stability and confidence, and even a bit of flotation. There's a lot of traction to be offered with the fish scale grip on the bottom of the ski, so with each and every stride you make, you'll be covering a lot of ground with little to no slip backs. There's not a whole lot more frustrating than sliding backwards when you're trying to go uphill, and thankfully Salomon's grip has an answer for that. On the edges of the skis, the steel edges give you a ton of confidence when it comes to making a sketchy turn or sidehilling on a steep slope. It's nice to know that the grip is there, and you'll be thankful for it. When we pair it with our BC bindings, the added security of the binding and the big bar interface allows skiers to tackle difficult slopes and intimidating terrain with safety and security. It's all about getting out there and having fun, and if there's some adventure to it, then so much the better. The Salomon Escape 68 Outback XC skis with BC bindings are an awesome killer deal for today's adventurous skier.

What boot would go with this? I'm EU 45 / US 12. I would need the 200 size skis. Would like to buy as soon as possible.
Question by: Thomas Collette on Nov 24, 2021, 7:53 PM
Hi Thomas,

Any of our backcountry x/c boots would go nicely with this package.

I have listed a few ideal choices for you below with a couple them being Balck Friday specials: A size US 12 would be a size 30 in Mondopoint (Confort Fit) or an EU size of a 45.5.

2022 ROSSIGNOL BC X 6 CROSS-COUNTRY SKI BOOTS
2021 FISCHER OFFTRACK 5 CROSS COUNTRY SKI BOOTS
2021 FISCHER BCX 5 CROSS COUNTRY SKI BOOTS

Hope this helps and think snow!

Are these bindings comparable with the NNN system?
Question by: James lippincott on Jan 30, 2021, 7:10 AM
Hi James, these are not NNN compatible. They use a back country binding which has a bigger lock in bar than an NNN binding

But the boots are for nnnbc bindings. Will they work?
Question by: Chuck on Feb 8, 2021, 4:23 PM
Hi Chuck!
NNN BC boots will fit into Rottefella BC Auto Bindings. Have fun!

Will these binding fit with my Salomon Vitane Plus Boot??
Question by: Lindsay Barrett on Oct 25, 2021, 4:21 PM
Hi Lindsay,
Those boots would not work with the BC bindings. Unfortunately you would need a bc boot.
Thanks,

Hi! Would the 170 length ski work for a person lighter than the recommended weight? Asking because you don't have the length category that best fits my weight which would be a 160. Thanks for the help!
Question by: Kathryn Downs on Nov 17, 2021, 9:55 PM
Hi Kathryn,

Absolutely! The difference in length between the 160cm and 170cm ski is just over 4" so its very minimal. In ski length for cross country, it would actually help rather than hinder. The extra running length will provide you with better surface area on the snow and will enhance your glide and downhill performance, so a slightly longer length would actually be ideal.

Hope this helps and think snow!

Hi. The size charts for me seem to be all over the place. I’m 200lbs and 5’8” and beginner intermediate skier. Would these work?
Question by: Kelly on Dec 26, 2021, 11:32 AM
Hi Kelly,

based on your stats, the 190 cm length which is the only size we have left is right in your wheelhouse. Go for it before its gone! All X/C and X/C-BC gear is flying off the shelves and or is sold out at this time of year!
