Salomon Escape 68 Outback XC Skis

There's a lot of fun to be had in the Nordic world these days. The Salomon Escape 68 Outback XC skis are a prime choice for adventurous skiers who are looking for something on the beefier side of the spectrum, but still want the light weight and capabilities of an in-bounds cross-country ski. With a tip width of 68 mm, you're going to get some good stability on these skis, as the extra material lends well to scooting and adventuring all over the woods. there's no "in-bounds" when it comes to these skis, as their metal edge grips tight to any sketchy situations, allowing you to go further and into different and more advanced territory than ever before. The wood core only adds to the confidence level and secure feelings for the skier, and if you're looking for a good combination of adventure and exercise, this is the way to go for sure. Thanks to the tacky fish scale grip system on the way up, you're getting some great purchase on the steeper hills at either the touring center or off in the wood somewhere on a choose your own adventure type of ski. There's not much these things can't do, and you're the beneficiary of all their versatility. If you want to stay in the track and shuffle along, they'll do that too. There's a ton of fun out there in the winter woods, and Nordic skiing is a fantastic way to get out and enjoy the snow in a safe, healthy, and invigorating manner. The Salomon Escape 68 Outback cross-country skis are the perfect tools for the job.

Given the 10-20 cm shorter length recommended for my weight, compared to most other 68’s, I’m wondering if these are a stiffer ski?
Question by: Mary Smelcer on Nov 11, 2021, 11:06 PM
Hello Mary,

Thanks for your inquiry,

Not a stiff ski by any means with its wood core and they are very light. It's the quintessential go anywhere, do anything x/c ski from groomed, track, or ungroomed surfaces at your local x/c center to backcountry exploring away from a touring center in deep snow and breaking trail. Point these things downhill on some steeper terrain with their metal edges and you can make some turns as well !

Hope this helps and think snow1

Is there a pro-link binding that is beefy enough for this ski? My wife has pro-link boots that she is comfortable with. Thanks, Steve
Question by: Steve Mandella on Jan 5, 2022, 10:57 PM
Hi Steve,

Right now we are only expecting more Rossy X/c equipment to come in for the remainder of the season. We have sold out of everything else. X/C in general has been flying off the shelves!
