K2 Pon200n Skis

For skiers who never want to sink in the powder, look no further than the K2 Pon2oon skis. Thanks to Shane McConkey and his innovative way of shaping skis, the Pon2oon was born and revolutionized ski construction forever. By taking cues from other sports, specifically water skis and surfboards, the traditional shaping of skis got reversed. Really only meant for true powder skiing, the sidecut of the ski, combined with the gargantuan width, really stands out and is unique compared to everything else on the market. Shaped 157/132/122, the skis have a wider waist than tail. This fully-tapered shape will cut through any snow and stay on top just like a boat floats on water. Built with a wood core and K2's triaxial fiberglass wrap, the skis are pretty snappy and energetic. They've also added their carbon boost braid to stiffen the ski without adding too much weight. The amount of fiberglass, and therefore epoxy, that has to be used in a ski of this shape is pretty big, so the epoxy ends up being the heavier material used. It basically acts as a functional laminate there's so much of it. Duracap construction works well here, allowing the edges of the ski to be thinner and quicker and lighter. While nearly full rocker, the skis are more like flat underfoot, affording the skier at least a bit of torsional stiffness to bite on to. Overall, if you like powder skiing and do a lot of it, look to the K2 Pon2oon skis for sure.

How much do the 159cm pontoons weigh?
Question by: John Bosshard III on Dec 30, 2021, 6:53 PM
Hi John-

We only have the 189 in stock which weighs in at 4993 grams per pair.
Take off about 3-400 for the 159 would be my best guess on that.

Hope this helps and happy New Year!
