Look Pivot 15 GW Ski Bindings

The classic Look binding never ages, never gets old, and never gets worse. In fact, these Look Pivot 15 bindings only seem to get better. While the Pivot 18 has its own type of cult following, those skiers who put more of a focus on safety oftentimes couldn't reach the entry point of the 8 DIN. It's like these skiers were worried about their knees for some reason or other. Who knows? Anyway, the good folks at Look not only listened to those skiers who wanted the solid toe piece of the Pivot 18 but with friendlier DIN, they also made the bindings GripWalk friendly and with a couple of new colors to choose from. At this point, Look Pivot fans really have nothing to complain about. We try to be partial here at SkiEssentials.com about which bindings are the best, but those of us Look snobs can't really help ourselves for the most part. The solid toe is simply amazing. It gives the most direct connection from your boot to the ski, and with its 180-degree release ability, it makes for a safe binding as well. The Pivot heel is really where the magic happens, with a ton of elastic travel and a side-releasing discharge direction, these bindings are not only some of the best performing on the planet, they're also some of the safest. The shorter mount zone has a lot to do with it as well, allowing for a more natural flex to the ski. For serious skiers who are looking for a serious binding, now in a lower start DIN, there isn't much competition to the Look Pivot 15 GripWalk bindings.

Is the Look Pivot 15 GW binding, 95mm, compatible with the Nordica Enforcer 100. If not what brake size would be compatible?
Question by: Craig Brownlee on Feb 28, 2021, 4:12 PM
HI Craig!
I have 95 mm Pivot brakes on my 100's (and Pinnacle 105's for that matter), so yes they do fit. A bit of a bend is required, but they work a lot better than the 115's. Have fun!

I want to mount these on a pair of Faction Prodigy 2.0's that have a 98 waist. Which brake size would you recommend?
Question by: Kevin on Apr 12, 2022, 1:48 PM
Hi Kevin!
The 95mm brake will fit on the 98 with a small bend in the brakes themselves. The Pivot brakes are very pliable so doing this shouldn't be difficult at all. If you didn't want to worry about bending brakes the 115's are the next size up for brakes.

My DIN setting is 6.5, is it a mistake to buy the Look Pivot 15 GW binding when 6.5 is at the lower end of the settings? I realize the the Look Pivot 14 has a more "neutral" setting for my me, but I am most interested in the Pivot 15. Thanks for your time.
Question by: Larry on Jan 4, 2022, 6:46 PM
Hi Larry,

A long as you are sure your true DIN is 6.5, then you are ok.

These bindings say they're compatible with "Grip Walk". Does that include the Hoji Free 130?
Thanks
Question by: BW on Mar 1, 2022, 12:45 PM
HI BW!
No, it has a Touring Sole, which is not GW compatible. Will work with MNC and Pin bindings.

what are the differences between the pivot 14 and 15 ? thanks
Question by: Dave on May 26, 2022, 2:50 PM
Hi Dave!

Functionally they operate the same, but the 14's use more plastics like more traditional bindings while the Pivot 15 has a one piece, all metal toe. The Pivot 15's as a result are going to be much tougher and can take hits that would break most other bindings.

Hello, I am looking at getting the pivot 15 with a 115mm break. The Ski this will be mounted on is the revolt 121's. Will the break be too small? I don't want to push out to the 130 break and am hoping 6mm wont cause any issues.
Question by: Alex Williams on Jun 14, 2022, 10:53 PM
Hi Alex!
I've used a Pivot 95 on a 105 mm ski but that's about as far as I'd take it. I think the 115 is a much better option for the 121 versus 130. Have fun!
