2022 Annual Youth Ski Fundraiser Recap

We love skiing and we love giving back to the skiing community.  Each year, we host a fundraising effort with the main goal of raising money for local youth ski programs.  Skiing and snowboarding are expensive sports with significant financial barriers to entry.  Getting some kids on snow that wouldn’t otherwise be able to means the world to us.  Everyone should be able to enjoy the thrill of sliding on snow; that we feel strongly about.

This year, however, looked a little different.  With the addition of Basin Ski and Sports in Killington to our family of businesses, we decided we certainly couldn’t leave them out.  Through further discussions, we also decided we wanted to better support our communities, and will be making donations to both Stowe Fire and Rescue and Killington Fire and Rescue.  These organizations are vital to the safety of our small towns, and often go somewhat uncelebrated.

Things also looked a bit different in how we ran the actual fundraiser.  We held an Employee Appreciation Weekend at both Pinnacle Ski & Sports and Basin Ski & Sports over the weekend of December 10th and 11th.  That weekend was packed full of free raffle prizes and community fun, with 10% of all in-store revenue being set aside for our fundraiser efforts.

In addition, we also held our annual online raffle on SkiEssentials.com.  Between the in-store events and our annual raffle, we are extremely pleased that we have once again surpassed our previous record for money raised.  We reached a whopping $10,500 in money raised, which will be split up and given directly to six different local school skiing programs and the two Fire and Rescue organizations.

We want to extend a huge thank you to anyone who purchased raffle tickets online, anyone who attended our in-store events, and of course, an extra special thank you to our beloved sponsors:

Armada, Atomic, BCA, Black Crows, Blizzard / Tecnica, Dynastar, Elan, Flylow, Head, K2, Kastle, Line Skis, Look, Marker, Nordica, Rossignol, Salomon, Scott, Smith, Sushi Yoshi, Stockli, Sweet Protection, and Volkl.
