Annual Local Youth Ski Program Fundraiser Recap

Skiing is an expensive sport with a lot of barrier to entry.  Even here in Northern Vermont, where skiing might seem like a normal part of life, there are a lot of families without the resources to get one snow.  We love skiing, and we want as many people in the world to be able to experience it.  Every fall, right before the start of ski season, we hold a fundraiser to raise money for local youth ski programs in Stowe and the surrounding towns of Morrisville, Johnson, Waterbury, and Hyde Park.  This year, with COVID-19 restrictions, we were unable to hold our traditional fundraiser event at Stowe Bowl.  Instead, we hosted an online raffle, which recently came to an end, and we wanted to share the results and thank you for your contributions.

In total, we sold 104 raffle tickets at $50 each, which surpasses the total amount raised in any of our prior fundraising efforts!  That $5200 is going to go a long way.  A huge thank you goes out to anyone and everyone who purchased a ticket.  You’re amazing, and the revenue from your raffle ticket purchase will go directly towards helping young skiers get on snow who otherwise might not be able to.  We contacted the raffle winners last week, prizes are being picked up and shipped out to winners both locally and around the country, and the money raised will be distributed equally to local programs ASAP.

Lastly, we wanted to thank all of the sponsors who helped make this possible.  Without your contribution, none of this would be possible.  A big thanks to:

  • K2 Sports
  • Nordica
  • Head / Tyrolia
  • Dynastar
  • Salomon
  • Atomic
  • Smith
  • Volkl
  • Stoweflake Resort
  • Sushi Yoshi
  • Idletyme
  • Smuggler's Notch
  • The Alchemist

With any luck, next season we can gather again in person to celebrate the start of ski season and get back to our traditional fundraising effort.  We love gathering with all of you and can’t wait until we can do so safely.  Until then, we’ll see you on the slopes!
