2020 Rossignol X-Ium Skating Premium S1

The Rossignol X-ium Premium S1 is a race ski through and through. The carbon construction and race profile results in an extremely smooth and fast experience. Whether you are going though bumpy terrain or through softer snow, the X-ium Premium S1 stays fast, light and quick through it all. The large increase in precision and huge weight decrease results in an unbelievable difference from beginner skis. Checkout why our testers think the X-ium Premium S1 is an amazing ski.

Marcus Shakun tested out the 193 cm Rossignol X-ium Premium S1 and enjoyed the high-end features that allow these skis to push the limits of what is possible on the trail. Marcus reported that the X-ium Premium S1 was “a very stable and had great glide.” He enjoyed the even flex throughout the ski which improved the feel of the ski’s transitions. Marcus found that the X-ium Premium S1 “seemed to have less pop and energy than the X-ium Premium S2 when I tested them back to back.” He would recommend these skis to “intermediate to expert skiers that are looking for a ski that won’t hold them back.”

Mackenzie Rizio took the 180 cm Rossignol X-ium Premium S1 ski out and really liked how well the skis maneuver considering the high level of stiffness. Mackenzie found the profile of the X-ium Premium S1 to be “very race-centric which is enforced by the high performance of the ski.” The ski was definitely designed with an intense racer in mind; however, a competent Nordic skier will also have a good time on them as well. All in all, Mackenzie enjoyed “how well the skis cornered, glided and maintained their speed.”

Jake Inger also took the 193 cm Rossignol X-ium Premium S1 skis out for a few laps and loved how he “couldn’t feel them on his feet.” The X-ium Premium S1 skis were designed to be extremely light and powerful which is exactly how Jake described them to be. Jake agreed with the Rossignol representatives at the ski test who recommend this ski for harder snow which is a result of their lower camber profile, compared to its counterpart the X-ium Premium S2. Jake enjoyed how this top-level ski was “super agile and very stable at high speeds.” He can assure you that this ski will not hold you back on the groomers.

“Woah” is the first thing Carol Van Dyke said about the 184 cm Rossignol X-ium Premium S1. Carol really enjoyed how “lively the X-ium Premium S1 was under my feet.” She told us she “loved the way the it rocked and rolled.” Carol found the X-ium Premium S1 to be light, easy to balance on, and how it “felt absolutely joyous to ski on.” When she did step-turns on the X-ium Premium S1 she felt very in control and efficient. Carol thinks this ski should belong in any intermediate to advanced skier’s fleet.

For those curious about how professional skiers are able to go so fast, you should consider buying or trying the Rossignol X-ium Premium S1. The X-ium Premium S1 will give you a taste of what it is like to be a more advanced and stronger skier. The precision and stability that is offered by this ski truly sets a high benchmark in the industry.
