Fischer RC One 86 GT Skis with RSW 12 GW Powerrail Bindings

Aggressive skiers looking for a great carving ski that sits on more of an all-mountain platform will love the power and performance of the Fischer RC ONE 86 GT with RSW 12 GW Powerrail Bindings. This ski features a strong and robust construction with subtle design features that add a bit of forgiveness and versatility. Starting at the core, the RC ONE 86 GT features a dense wood core along with two metal laminates running tip to tail. The metal tapers out in the tip and the tail, an in the areas that lack metal, you'll find a BAFATEX material which is an unwoven fabric that provides a lot of strength while keeping the weight down. Despite its robust construction, a bit of tip and tail rocker along with some slight early taper in the tail allow the ski to feel much more like an all-mountain ski with the performance of a true frontside carving ski. The rocker in the tip helps give the ski some float in fresh snow and allows for effortless turn initiation while the rocker and taper in the tail allow the edge of the ski to release when needed. A bit of camber underfoot helps with edge hold in the firmest of conditions, but there isn't so much of it to the point where turning the ski feels like a task. The great thing about this ski is that true experts will really enjoy it, but it is approachable to skiers who might not have the power and precision to handle a true frontside carving ski.

How does this compare to the previous generation (pro MTN 86)? I own the pro MTN 86 in 175cm and they were the first pair of skis I’ve ever owned (usually rented). I ski east coast with 1-2 trips out west a year if I’m fortunate enough. Intermediate-borderline advanced

Is the RC one more front side oriented than the pro MTN 86? Worth upgrading for me since I’m 90/10 frontside skier?

Thanks for reaching out Eric! You are right on the money it sounds like. Moving from the pro MTN to the RC one is going to give you even more performance for that 90/10 frontside skiing. Cheers!
