2024 BLIZZARD HUSTLE 11 SKIS
Returning unchanged for 2024, the Blizzard Hustle 11 is the result of years of hybrid resort/backcountry ski technology with a modern freeride flair. By keeping the overall weight to a minimum and a high degree of downhill performance, the Hustle 11 is one of the best hybrid skis on the market. Its TrueBlend Freeride core and Carbon D.R.T Laminate complement one another to produce a stable, damp, and forgiving ski that is well suited for 50%/50% Resort/Backcountry applications, respectively. Compared to the closely related Rustler 11, the Hustle uses a carbon laminate instead of titanal as well as a slightly different shape and sidecut. What really separates the Hustle from the Rustler is its lighter weight and touring capabilities. Pairing the Hustle with a hybrid binding would be a great option for dual purpose ski. However, pairing it with a full tech binding can make for a great big mountain, powder hunting application.

The construction of the 2024 Blizzard Hustle 11 is quite unique with its TrueBlend Freeride Core and Carbon D.R.T. (Dynamic Release Technology) laminate. In the 180cm length, a pair weighs 3700 grams which is impressively light for a ski of this width and overall strength. The TrueBlend Freeride Core consists of a multi-stringer lay-up of 3 types of wood: 8 stringers of Beech, 3 of Poplar, and 5 of Paulownia. This technique fine tunes the flex of the ski to be more forgiving in the extremities, stable underfoot, and semi-supple torsionally in the extremities. Reinforcing the core is Blizzard’s Carbon D.R.T Laminate, which uses carbon and fiberglass to provide lightweight dampening properties as well as stability and control. Together, these features make the Hustle extremely responsive and intuitive because of their maneuverability and stability.

Previously, the Hustle 11 shared the same profile and sidecut as the closely related Rustler 11. However, for 2024, the Hustle keeps its shape while the Rustler gets a new shape. The twin-tip freeride profile with tip rocker, camber underfoot, and tail rocker make the Hustle highly maneuverable in all types of settings. Turn initiation and release is incredibly smooth with this ski and it is an absolute treat when in soft snow conditions. Smeary yet direct in its nature, the Hustle is a wide ski that is very capable of carving when on trail. A 19 meter turning radius at the 180cm length is indicative of how it likes to be skied. It likes to go fast, popping from side to side, and jumping off everything in sight. In terms of sidecut, the Hustle 11 has a forebody width of 139mm, a waist width of 112mm, and a tail width of 129mm. Tons of floatation for the deepest days and loaded with energy for your next adventure.
The 2024 Blizzard Hustle 11 is ridiculously versatile with a multitude of applications. Put broadly, it is for a few different types of skiers. The first would be someone who is looking for a relatively light but strong powder ski who will put a hybrid binding on it and use it both in the resort and backcountry. The Second would be someone who is backcountry focused, looking for a light but strong to put a tech binding on it and take it powder hunting. The third would be someone who is looking for an energetic, lightweight, and stable resort powder ski. If you are one or a combination of these people, the Hustle 11 is for you.
