2024 Line Pandora 104 Women's Ski

2024 LINE PANDORA 104 WOMEN'S SKI

$649.95

For 2024, the Line Pandora 104 gets a graphics recharge, keeping it at the top of its class when it comes to appearances. Line does not stop there, though, bestowing proper freeride and all-mountain performance unto this great ski. While we do get the updated cosmetic, the ski returns structurally unchanged for this year, allowing a new crop of advanced and expert ladies the opportunity to get on and enjoy this well-rounded and wider-bodied offering. Line does a better job than most companies out there when it comes to making things that are different, creative, and unique. Pandora 104 has a great blend of powder flotation, on-trail precision, and all-around usefulness that is rarely duplicated in the ski world today. As an excellent option for those who spend most of their time in—or in search of—fresh snow, the Pandora 104 has a special place in the ski industry as one of the friendliest performers out there.

Built with weight savings in mind, the Pandora 104 starts with an aspenlite wood core that keeps the ski feeling agile and precise. In many of the other skis in the lineup, they use thicker edges and bases, but this is not the case with the Pandora 104. This ski gets the skinny treatment, putting a thinner base on the bottom to go along with thinner and lighter edges. The only real additional material are the carbon magic finger stringers that help with the stiffening of the ski, but even those don’t weigh much at all. The end result is a ski that hits 1633 grams in the 165—pretty light for something this wide. We also get their use of Capwall construction that puts a vertical sidewall on the bottom half of the ski while the upper portion is capped for quickness and durability. You get great grip and edge hold while keeping the ski maneuverable and the gorgeous topsheet intact.

As a 104, this Pandora prefers to be used in softer and deeper snow. This does not preclude it from being fun or memorable on groomers and other on-piste terrain. The sidecut is accessible, so it makes sense that this ski will turn well. At 14.6-meters in the 165, it’s a pretty short turner, and when you combine the ski’s ability to come across the fall line due to the arc and the more flexible nature of the ski, it ends up being a whole lot of fun. On firmer snow, you’ll hit a limit for sure, but if the groomers are soft, this thing is a blast. We get quite a bit of tip rocker here as well to go along with a relatively high camber profile and a directionally-rockered tail. The camber adds a lot of pop to the mix, building energy into the ski. Line also uses a somewhat elliptical sidecut to create comfort and confidence at both long and short turns.

Line is a great company. They make unique and interesting skis and then let the skier decide how, why, and where to use them. Rather than letting a marketing branch tell skiers that since the ski is light, it should be used for touring, they simply build the ski, let it shine, and allow the skier to dictate the nature and purpose of the ski. While we could make an argument that the Pandora 104 is a great option for those that want to blend resort and backcountry skiing, we’d rather just tell you about the ski and let you make the final call.
