2024 Line Vision 108 Skis

2024 LINE VISION 108 SKIS

The way in which Line goes about building skis is truly something to behold. There are so many ski companies out there that seem to just be happy copying each other and making different versions of the same ski. Line does no such thing. There are very few, if any, Line skis that even come close to having a peer. For 2024, the Line Vision 108 shows itself as a unique and independent model, even as it sits between the 98 and the 118 in its own line. The Vision series has been on our radar for a while now, offering up an insane amount of versatility given the crazy light weight of the skis. There are many touring skis on the market today that are heavier than the Vision 108, and honestly, we have no idea why or how. They never seem to market these skis as touring or even hybrid skis, putting more of the decision making on the skier, and that’s really what it’s all about. Feel free to tour on this ski if you want, or not at all.

Built with a blend of paulownia and aspen in the wood core, the Vision 108 benefits from the energy of the paulownia and the smoothness of the aspen. While paulownia is indeed light, it’s stiffer than many skiers think, adding a bunch of pop to the build of the ski. To further that feeling, they also use a blend of carbon and aramid stringers in a fiberglass laminate to add stiffness without adding much weight. Amazingly, even at 108 mm underfoot, the Vision 108 weighs a paltry 1605 grams. For a floaty and fun freeride ski, this is a feather. It’s amazing when you pick them up just how light and airy they feel. It’s tough to imagine that these skis can then perform well on snow, but the reality is that they’re quite composed. The amount of material that they have in them allows for greater stability and confidence, but overall, it’s an impressive blend of light weight and high performance.

We’ve loved the skier’s first attitude about the Vision 108 for a few years now, and we expect that philosophy to continue into the future. This ski is all about putting itself out there and letting the pilot dictate how and why it’s used in a certain situation. There’s a lot to love about this freeride ski from a number of perspectives, and Line is so incredibly good about letting the athlete choose the adventure rather than a marketing person. It’s just more fun that way.
