While skis are a big part of our structure here at SkiEssentials.com, we’ll be the first to point out that a proper fitting and flexing boot is the most important piece of ski gear that you’ll ever own. We’ll also be the first to admit that buying ski boots online can be tricky business. Your best bet is to see a qualified boot fitter to get the right product. Fortunately, we have many experienced fitters on staff here in the hopes of guiding you to the right product. When it comes to ski boots, it’s all about blending fit and performance. Ski boots should be comfortable enough so as to not cut off circulation, but they should be snug enough to transfer your energy efficiently and quickly. Boots with a 110-flex rating and up work great for advanced and expert skiers while the lower the flex, the easier it is to start the turn. 60-flex ratings are great for beginners and first-time skiers, while a 100-flex boot will fit great on most intermediate skiers. When it comes to lasts, or widths, a low-volume last will be the tightest fit while the high-volume boots will accommodate wide and voluminous feet. We have awesome alpine boots from K2, Nordica, Lange, and more!
