2024 Nordica Enforcer 110 Free Ski

2024 NORDICA ENFORCER 110 FREE SKI

$999.99

In the world of wide and burly freeride skis, the 2024 Nordica Enforcer 110 Free has carved out its own niche for sure. Thanks to the blending of burly construction, a progressive shape, and a fun-loving character, these skis have all you need to stay on top of the fresh and handle some of the most technical terrain on the planet. When these skis first came out, it was a revelation. How could something this wide turn so well and float incredibly at the same time? The mix of attributes was truly astonishing, and we loved every minute of it when out there on the hill. Thanks to Nordica’s development of the other skis in the Enforcer line up to the inception of the 110, these fat skis were the beneficiaries of years of technological advancements in both shape and construction. As a result, the modern and aggressive freeride skier reaps the benefits of many different aspects of Nordica’s ski building expertise.

The performance does come at the cost of weight, though, and in many cases, this will prohibit some skiers from fully enjoying the trappings of the 110. The construction starts with a performance wood core that keeps things stable and sturdy throughout the turn in any conditions or terrain. We also get two layers of carbon-infused fiberglass that stiffen the ski and provide an amazing amount of energy. To keep the ski as damp as possible, Nordica utilizes two titanal laminates that do a fantastic job of limiting the jitters, maintaining a crazy-quiet personality that just motors over and through anything you put in front of it. As a result of this build, though, the ski does tip the scale at 2330 grams in the 185, so there’s some ski to push and lift. While it’s not the best at slow speeds and with more moderate skiing, it does start to come to life when asked. The demand level is on the high side, so skiers should have some type of skill set and power in order to access the entirety of the performance.

That being said, the shape and profile of the ski certainly fall on the playful side of the spectrum, and if this shape had a lighter build, it would be one of the more maneuverable skis in the industry at this width. As is, though, it’s relatively fun-loving when given the weight. The profile consists of 40% camber and 60% rocker, so while there’s some shorter effective edge going on when the ski is run flat, the sidecut extends beyond the rocker to allow for better edge grip at speed and on higher angles. This makes the ski feel like a higher-performance option at higher speeds while still maintaining some level of playfulness and agility at lower speeds due to the shape. While there’s some taper to be spoken of, it’s not a dominant theme with the ski. That helps create the somewhat shorter turn radius of 18.5-meters in the 185. Normally with wider and more freeride-oriented skis, we’re getting a longer arc for more direct skiing, but one of the best parts about this 110 is that it actually carves sweet, clean, and round turns. Ask any Enforcer skier—the turning is the best part.

While mainly reserved for snow days and deeper terrain, the Enforcer 110 Free is one of the more capable on-trail skis of this width. This does not take away anything from the flotation or freeride nature, rather it’s an added bonus that many skiers have held true to their hearts whenever they get on the 110. Sure, it’s got more of a focus on softer snow, and won’t be much of a one-ski quiver for many, but for the few skiers that know and love this blend of build and shape for truly aggressive big mountain skiing, the 2024 Nordica Enforcer 110 Free is one of the rare beauties in this category.
