2026 Atomic Backland JR Skiswith Atomic Colt 7 Bindings

Returning unchanged for 2026, the Atomic Backland Junior with Atomic Colt 7 Bindings offers uphill efficiency and dependable downhill performance for young adventure seekers. These skis are ideal for groms interested in backcountry skiing who need a lightweight option that won’t tire them out on the ups, for maximum fun on the downs.

Why we like it:

The Backland Junior is light enough for all-day use yet sturdy enough for confident downhill performance.

Who it's for:

Intermediate to advanced junior skiers interested in backcountry adventures.

Highlights:

The Densolite Core from Atomic ensures strength and an appropriate stiffness for younger, lighter skiers, while keeping the weight low. Dura Cap Sidewalls help to transfer power into the edges on firm snow, enhancing responsiveness and giving skiers confidence in technical terrain. The wider width of the Backland Junior ensures plenty of float in soft snow.

Things to consider:

The 2026 Atomic Backland Junior is specifically designed for touring. If backcountry touring isn’t in the game plan, there are other options that will be more suitable for resort use.

Fit & sizing considerations:

These skis run true to size. For users who are more beginner to intermediate, it might be worth considering a slightly smaller size.
