Again for 2025, Atomic’s Revoshock S technology is a star player that gives the Q9.8 a smooth and powerful feel on firm snow. Spring steel and elastomer modules running down the middle of the ski act to dampen vibration and smooth out the rough spots on trail, resulting in a quiet, smooth ride. The subtle taper in the tip and tail of the Q9.8, along with the wider width underfoot, gives the ski the versatility to venture into soft and variable snow.

Things to consider:

Recreational racers will find that the Q9.8 has a bit too much all-mountain influence to be used as a race ski, and would do better to look at the G, S, or X Redsters. On the other side of this coin are the all-mountain skiers, and those looking for the most all mountain versatility will prefer something that’s truly in that category.
