Short-radius precision is the calling card of the Blizzard Thunderbird 72 SP. A narrow 72 mm waist and a focused frontside design deliver quick edge transitions and a clean, responsive feel on firm snow, favoring short to medium turns over long arcs. Skiers who want control and accuracy on groomed trails will appreciate how directly it answers input. We paired the Thunderbird 72 SP with the Dalbello Veloce Max 75 ski boots to create an intuitive package that supports learning and development. The Veloce Max 75 offers a roomy fit and forgiving flex, giving skiers a comfortable option for distraction-free progression.

Who it's for:

Skiers who prize control and accuracy on groomed trails, from strong intermediates upward. It suits people who prefer short to medium turns and ski firm snow more often than soft.

Things to consider:

This much specialization means no float and little forgiveness off the groomed run. Skiers who want long, drawn-out arcs at speed will also find the tight shape works against them.

Fit & sizing considerations:

Short-turn skis reward staying close to or just under the skier's height, because the shape already produces a quick turn and extra length fights it. Only size up if you want to stretch the ski toward longer arcs than it naturally makes.
