The Fischer RC4 130 MV BOA is a stiff, high-performance boot for strong skiers with medium-volume feet who want a locked-in fit. It pairs single-dial BOA closure with a moldable Vacuum shell, a wide power strap, and a performance liner with customizable fit zones. Advanced and expert skiers get the precise, powerful connection to their skis they need to drive hard at speed.
Why we like it:
The iFZ liner is a clever touch; Velcro-backed zones in the heel and ankle let a bootfitter add pads exactly where you need more hold. We also like the Phatt Maxx strap, which gives the cuff a more solid, connected feel than a standard Velcro strap.
Who it's for:
Advanced and expert skiers who ski aggressively across the whole mountain and want a stiff, responsive boot. It's built for medium-volume feet with an average forefoot and instep, and skiers who want a performance fit without going to a narrow race last will feel at home here.
Highlights:
A bootfitter can heat mold the Vacuum shell to address pressure points without grinding. The lower shell closes with the BOA H+i1 Fit System, a high-power dial built for alpine boots that wraps the shell evenly and lets you fine-tune tension anytime, and two cuff buckles plus a Phatt Maxx strap lock down the upper. Inside, the RC4 MV Performance liner uses iFZ fit zones in the heel and ankle so Velcro pads can be added to boost heel hold or relieve hot spots. The last is built from Fischer Scan-Fit data, and SOMA-TEC geometry sets a slightly V-shaped stance that's easier on the knees and more natural on edge. The bootboard is grindable for custom work, RD20 Race Canting lets a fitter fine-tune cuff alignment, and GripWalk soles make the walk to the lift a lot more secure.
Things to consider:
The 130 flex is a lot of boot for lighter or less aggressive skiers, who will be happier in the 120 or 110 MV BOA. The liner isn't listed as heat moldable, so custom fit work relies on the moldable shell and the iFZ pads, and GripWalk soles require a compatible binding.
Fit & sizing considerations:
This is a medium-volume boot at heart, built on a 100mm last. Skiers with narrower feet should look at the LV version, and because this is a stiff 130-flex boot, a visit to a certified bootfitter is the best way to dial in the fit.
