The new 2025 K2 Almanac is an all-new directional all-mountain and freestyle-oriented board, paired here with Rossignol Battle Bindings. With the Party Platter discontinued for 2025, the Almanac steps in as a fun and playful freeride board suitable for any terrain. Whether you’re tackling deep snow, cruising groomers, or exploring the side country, this setup has you covered. We paired the Almanac with the Rossignol Battle because these versatile all-mountain bindings can cover a variety of terrain and conditions with all the comfort that any rider can appreciate. A moderate flex makes these approachable for most riders making them a great option to pair with the Almanac.
Why we like it:
The Almanac excels in deep snow thanks to its tip rocker and taper, while its full camber profile and added carbon provide excellent stability and edge hold on groomers. The board offers substantial spring-loaded pop for big airs and features a moderate flex that makes it approachable and easy to maneuver for most riders.
Who it's for:
The Almanac is ideal for intermediate to advanced riders who seek a board that can handle various conditions, from icy east coast groomers to powder-filled days. Its shaping and rocker profile make it highly maneuverable, perfect for navigating side country, tight trees, or moguls.
Highlights:
The BAP Core combines Bamboo, Aspen, and Paulownia, delivering a damp yet responsive ride without compromising weight or durability. The Ollie Bar, a pre-curved carbon strip between the inserts, adds extra pop for increased airtime. The Carbon Backbone, running from tip to tail, enhances power and stability, helping you rail turns at high speeds without experiencing chatter. The One Shot Strap on the Battle bindings provide exceptional stability both laterally and vertically transferring energy quicker and more efficiently. EVA footbeds help reduce chatter to create a smoother, damper ride in any conditions. The Mainframe Highbacks have a rigid center frame with softer sides to give you the best combination of stability and comfort without sacrificing weight.
Things to consider:
The directional shape and taper of the Almanac improve deep snow performance but can make it more challenging to ride and land switch. While not the stiffest board, the full camber profile can make it easier to catch an edge, which might be difficult for entry-level riders.
Fit & sizing considerations:
As a Volume Shift board, the Almanac should be downsized by 3-5 cm from your usual length.
