When a trail has been skied all weekend it stops being smooth, and that's where the extra platform under the Rossignol Evo XT 60 Positrack earns its place. The wider shape keeps the ski settled through ruts and soft patches instead of getting knocked off line, and the scaled base grips through temperature swings without any preparation. A low-density core stops the added width from becoming added weight. The kit arrives complete with boots and poles. [boot PKG overview]

Who it's for:

Recreational classic skiers who want more stability underfoot, including heavier skiers and anyone whose local trails see enough traffic to get rough. It suits beginners through intermediates who ski regularly but aren't chasing performance.

Things to consider:

A wider platform is slower in a set track than a narrow ski, so skiers who stay on well-groomed classic trails and want efficiency should consider the Evo XT 55 instead. As with any scaled base, the grip is dependable rather than silent, and skin skis run quieter with slightly better glide.

Fit & sizing considerations:

Use Rossignol's weight chart rather than your height when picking a length. A heavier skier on a ski that's too short will flatten the camber and drag the scales, which kills glide, so err toward the longer option if your weight sits near the top of a bracket. [boot sizing specifics]
