$979.90
The 2025 Salomon QST 98 combines agility and versatility by carving, floating, and bouncing through on and off piste terrains with finesse. With how much tip and tail rocker the 98 has, you would think it is a soft snow oriented ski, and you would be correct. However, the QST 98 is a shockingly good carver and is so easy to ski that it is arguably one of the most versatile skis in its category.
Why we like it:
Incredible soft snow performance with surprising on trail performance which places it in a very special spot that a lot of skiers tend to be looking in. We see it as the ultimate tree ski.
Who it's for:
Intermediate to expert skiers who seek a truly versatile ski that has the utmost soft snow performance that can also carve excessively clean and round arcs.
Highlights:
The QST 98 has a full poplar woodcore with a fairly thick core profile to provide maximum energy and pop while also granting stability and power to the ski without making it unforgiving. A C/FX laminate running the full length of the ski uses carbon and flax to add energy to the ski while also damping vibrations for a smooth and springy feel. Cork Damplifiers are inserted into the tips and tails of the ski to provide further vibration damping during high-speed descents through variable snow. Finally, Double Sidewall Technology is used underfoot to produce immediate power transfer and stability underfoot for a planted and confident experience. These technologies combine for a well-rounded and predictable ski that is sure to perform anywhere you take it.
Things to consider:
The QST 98 is quite a supple ski that enjoys soft snow the most but doesn’t shy away from a groomer. If you have a preference towards on trail performance and will not be spending a bunch of time in soft snow or off-trail, the Stance series is a better place to be. However, if you are constantly ducking into the glades in search of soft snow and use the groomers as a mode of stache hopping, the QST 98 is just the right tool.
Fit & sizing considerations:
Skis true to size. If you are between sizes, size up for more high-speed stability and size down for increase agility in tighter terrain.
