Long carves but strong.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

Hardpack and groomed snow. It is stiff and strong.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

Aggressive skiers. I would say type 2-3. It is a fun ski but hard to turn and control.

If you could change anything about these skis, what would you change and why?

I would personally like a mount position closer to the center. This might combat the difficulty to ski without compromising the strength of the ski.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

Incredibly easy to ski! Initiates turns easy, powerful edge hold through the middle of the turn. Tails are easy to either finish your turn, or release and slarve. So fun in bumps! This ski rips! It’s amazing, it has so much pop, and can still hold an edge everywhere.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

All mountain ski, great everywhere! So versatile, I’d be happy skiing this every day but a deep pow day.

Intermediate-expert, it’s that versatile!

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

First impressions on this are really positive. It feels light on my feet but still has strong edge grip and feels confident throughout the turn shape. The shape and flex pattern of the ski rewards an aggressive skiing stance and gives a lot of positive response when directed from the front. The light weight nature of the ski means you can also slow down and ski from a more neutral body position and feel in control making smaller and more pivoty turns.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

This feels like an all mountain ski that has a Freeride backbone. You can take it anywhere and on any trail and get positive return out of the ski. There’s not a lot of options for freeride terrain in the current conditions and trail count but I wouldn’t be surprised that the ski would perform well in that space as well.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

This ski would be intuitive for a wide range of skiers. Strong beginners to intermediates will be able to make whatever turn shape they’d like to while Expert skiers will find a lot power on tap for the those able to reach it.

If you could change anything about these skis, what would you change and why?

I would be interested in seeing how the ski would preform with a bit more weight to make it more stable and damp but it would detract from the versatile nature of the ski.

The Declivity felt easy to ski yet very stable. I instantly felt comfortable and was able to smash bumps and carve turns. The ski would be an awesome daily driver for a more aggressive skier who can push the ski.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

All mountain. It is definitely a directional ski with some freeride spirit. The 102 waist is a good width for an east coast do it all ski.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

Advanced or expert. The ski is intuitive and easy to ski however it really starts to come to life the more you pressure the front of your boot and drive the ski.

This ski surprised me with its playfulness and its ability to cruise large turns in the corn snow.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

I would ride this in most soft snow conditions. I bet it's a ton of fun in powder, as it tore up the spring corn easily. Very smooth with mid range and longer turns.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

I'm not sure a beginner would enjoy this, but intermediate through expert would have a blast, especially in soft snow. Too wide for me to enjoy it on the real hard snow, I'm sure it excels in powder.

This ski is super fun, just like the whole Declivity line but a little softer in the tips and tails to make them slightly more playful. Good one ski quiver ski.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

As I have a personal pair of Declivity 102 Ti's, the Declivity X 102 seoarates itself with some boosted smoothness and overall vibration damping. However, there is a decrease in energy with the change in core construction from karuba to poplar. There is also less metal in the X 102 so there are some more vibrations in the extremities, but not a ton. Carbing performance and edge grip is amazing for a 102 and the soft snow maneuverability is great! Certainly a fantastic option for someone that likes a directional freeride all-mountain ski who wants both carving performance as well as soft snow capability. This thing is AWESOME - truly a quiver killer.

Groomers, tress, and soft snow, with some firm snow as well!
