DESCRIPTION

The all-new 2027 Stormbird 82 DTI is Blizzard’s answer for skiers who want frontside power and edge precision, but without the punishing feel of a full-blown race ski. Built with dual layers of titanal and a finely tuned wood core, it delivers confident grip, fast transitions, and a super smooth ride, whether you’re hot-lapping groomers at speed or just linking clean, high-edge turns.

Why we like it:

It offers serious edge hold and high-speed stability, but it's still enjoyable for everyday carving; it’s the kind of ski that makes you ski better without making you work harder.

Who it's for:

Strong intermediates up to expert skiers who like to lean into their turns and want a ski that keeps up, especially on firm, frontside snow.

Highlights:

The 82 mm waist strikes a great balance between agility and edge support. A double layer of Titanal and Blizzard’s TrueBlend Piste SP woodcore work together to deliver powerful edge engagement and a stable platform for carving. The TrueBlend core really comes into play here, as the stiffer center of the ski locks you in on edge, while softer tip and tail zones make it easier to initiate and release turns. And thanks to a built-in vibration dampening system utilizing rubber layers placed strategically at the tip and tail, the ski feels calm and composed even when the snow gets choppy.

Things to consider:

Yes, it’s fairly approachable, but this is still a powerful ski. It rewards good technique and speed, so if you're looking for something laid-back or slow-speed friendly, the Stormbird 80 TI might be a better fit.

Fit & sizing considerations:

These ski true to size; as is often the case with frontside carving skis, skiers will often size down for added quickness with negligible loss of stability at speed.
