DESCRIPTION

The 2027 Fischer Nightstick 97 with Tyrolia Attack 14 MN Bindings is a do-it-all freestyle setup that bridges the gap between terrain park performance and all-mountain versatility. Wider than your typical park ski, the Nightstick 97 delivers the strength, pop, and playfulness you'd expect from a true twin—but with enough width and support to handle softer snow, side hits, and creative freeride lines. It’s built for skiers who want to turn the entire mountain into their terrain park. We paired the Nightstick 97 with the Tyrolia Attack 14 GW because of the Attack’s light weight, reliability, and ease-of-use for all mountain and freeride skiers. Additionally, ample elastic travel and direct power transmission function to ensure these bindings cater perfectly to the needs of demanding freeriders.

Why we like it:

We love how the Nightstick 97 balances responsiveness with all-mountain capability. It doesn’t sacrifice liveliness for width, and it brings a solid platform for skiers who want to boost jumps, land switch, and keep the style flowing whether they’re on groomers, in the park, or dipping into sidecountry features.

Who it's for:

Best suited for advanced and expert freestyle skiers who want a more versatile twin tip for riding switch, spinning off natural features, or taking on the park when conditions are right. If your style is creative and mountain-wide, the 97 is built for you.

Highlights:

The Nightstick 97 features a full poplar wood core for dependable energy and stability, reinforced with Air Tec milling to lighten the swing weight without compromising power. Titanal elements underfoot improve edge hold and help with binding retention, especially useful for high-impact tricks and rail sessions. Freeski Rocker adds maneuverability in soft snow and tight spaces, while Fiber Tech laminates and Sandwich Sidewall Construction offer a balanced flex with excellent torsional stability. A sintered base rounds things out with speed and durability for consistent laps across variable conditions. The Attack 14 GW’s FR PRO3 Toe contains a generous 30 mm of elastic travel. This provides a smooth and confident feel when tracking though variable snow, while also recentering the boot to its neutral position extremely well to keep you locked in, acting almost like a suspension system. The NX FR Heel has even more 16 elastic travel at 16mm, which further aids in preventing the dreaded pre-release. These cammed heel pieces also make stepping into and out of bindings super easy, even in deep snow.

Things to consider:

Although the Nightstick 97 has a more versatile shape and width, it’s still designed with freestyle performance in mind. If you're focused on aggressive carving or high-speed stability in big-mountain terrain, a directional all-mountain ski might serve you better.

Fit & sizing considerations:

This ski runs true to size. Skiers prioritizing spins, rail tricks, and aerial agility might prefer to size down slightly, while those leaning into all-mountain lines and big air stability should go with their regular length.

Solid ski. These felt nice and sturdy on the ice/hard pack. They didn't chatter and felt like they could be really playful in more snow.

Did this length feel short, long, or just right? Would you recommend sizing up or down, or does it ski "true to size?" Would you choose this length for yourself?
I think the 184 was a good length for me. I think with its light weight, going a lil longer wasn’t an issue and provided more stability.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?
It’s a light weight ski that’s not too demanding that has a nice playful feel but can still be pushed on groomed trails while feeling stable.
For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?
This ski would be best for powder skiing or on slushy loose snow. It’s a light ski that’s easy to manage and throw around but can get a little chattery at high speeds.
What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?
This ski would be best suited for an Advanced skier who wants a fun, poppy, ski that isn’t too demanding. It’s easy to manage but with its soft playfulness it’s not the best for laying down hard strong carves.
Anything else you want to tell us about your experience on these skis?
It’s for sure a fun, playful, ski looking to jump around in the woods and powder.
