Felt relatively powerful out of the blocks.

I’d say frontside and all mountain as they could handle both.

Intermediate to expert skiers that like frontside carving.

The ski had nice balance and power. Pretty agile for a 177 cm and had a nice consistency from turn to turn.

Nice solid feeling ski. Easy to turn with good edge hold.

The ski would be good in a variety of terrain. Slight rocker profile should be good in more variable conditions that I encountered.

Advanced intermediate or better.

The Blur XT is definitely a front side ski.

This is for a beginners moving to intermediate, up to full intermediate.

I’d call this the Dad ski. Easy to cruise on with the kids and stiff enough to lay down good medium size carving turns.

I felt like I was too heavy for the 177, would have liked to try the 184.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?

This is not a demanding ski and it is fairly capable, but I felt like my weight on this ski was a little much. Perhaps the 184 would have fit me better, but the 177 did not encourage me to push my own limits. The full camber shape combined with the easier flex make the tip feel a bit eager in chopped up snow. On edge it feels good. The edge grip is respectable and vibration damping is pleasant. This ski is pretty easy to get on and go.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

This ski is at home on hard snow. While not a top choice for adventure skiing, the flex could be fun in the bumps with intentional, well-timed turns. With easier flex and a short radius, this ski prefers medium to short turns.

What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?

I think this would be a great ski for an intermediate looking to move up from "recreational" gear. It is approachable, fairly easy to flex, and pretty hard to upset. For ambitious skiers looking to learn how to carve picturesque arcs, or lighter advanced skiers looking for a friendlier flex, this is a solid option.

Anything else you want to tell us about your experience on these skis?

The tip of this ski likes to initiate. The shape of this ski is fairly aggressive with zero tip taper, full camber, and a tight radius. But as it does not have the stiff flex of a race-adjacent ski, the Blur is not crazy about pointing straight down the fall line with a heavy skier on board. Skiers who are constantly turning and want to stay below the speed of sound will fit this ski best.

Wasn’t a huge fan of this ski. I felt like the ski was too wide underfoot for the construction and design of the ski (would benefit from being narrower). This causes it to not be playful or agile in softer snow/bumps.

For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?

Soft groomers. Demanding ski where the operator needs to be accurate and intentional with what they want to the ski to do, otherwise it doesn’t really respond well.

Advanced. I think an intermediate skier would not enjoy skiing on this ski.

If you could change anything about these skis, what would you change and why?

Make it narrower. I bet at 72ish underfoot this could be a really fun frontside carver.
