The 2026 Salomon QST 106 is unchanged in name, but the ski itself receives some subtle updates that pack a punch on the top end of this ski’s performance. QST’s across the line have gotten new construction and shaping, and the 106 benefits from these as well, making it a more refined and powerful freeride ski with the versatility to do it all.
Why we like it:
A ski this fun is hard not to like! The 2026 QST 106 brings forward all our favorite characteristics from the previous version but in a more refined package, providing a nuanced but mighty uptick in performance.
Who it's for:
Advanced and Expert freeriders looking for a powerful, intuitive, and versatile ski will love the QST 106.
Highlights:
Like the others in the QST lineup, the 106 gets the benefit of new construction, shape, and profile. The poplar wood core runs the length of the ski, and Salomon cleverly incorporates basalt fibers to achieve a damp and stable feel, despite the lack of metal here. Added stiffness in the tails provides more support and a cleaner finish to the turn, and a fresh version of the Cork Damplifier mitigates unwanted chatter, keeping the skis in contact with the snow for a smoother feel and better control. Finally, subtle changes to the shape and profile give just a bit more refinement to the top end of their performance band, giving skiers the confidence to charge hard.
Things to consider:
If you’re a fan of the 2025 QST 106 and are looking at the ’26 version, know that this ski is going to be a touch stiffer and therefore will require a bit more skier unput than last year’s model. It rewards those who have the skills to access that high performance band.
Fit & sizing considerations:
These ski true to size; if you fall in between sizes, size up for added stability at speed, or size down for maximum maneuverability.
