The 2026 Volkl Mantra 108 with Tyrolia Attack 14 GW Bindings is a powerhouse of a freeride ski built for serious big-mountain descents. With a stout construction, directional shape, and high-speed stability that few skis can match, the Mantra 108 delivers confidence and composure when terrain gets steep, fast, and technical. Designed for hard-charging skiers who need total control no matter the snow conditions, this ski is built to be pushed. We paired the Mantra 108 with the Tyrolia Attack 14 GW because of the Attack’s light weight, reliability, and ease-of-use for all mountain and freeride skiers. Additionally, ample elastic travel and direct power transmission function to ensure these bindings cater perfectly to the needs of demanding freeriders.

Why we like it:

For skiers who want to attack the fall line at speed and demand absolute stability and grip, the Mantra 108 performs like few others.

Who it's for:

Best for advanced to expert skiers who favor power, control, and directionality in their skiing. If you’re drawn to high-speed descents, variable snow, and big-mountain lines, this ski is engineered for you.

Highlights:

Volkl’s 3D Radius sidecut integrates three turn radii into one ski—short at the tip for quick initiation, longer underfoot for stability, and medium at the tail for powerful exits. The Tailored Titanal Frame strategically layers full-width titanal under the core with a segmented upper frame, allowing for stiffness where you need it and more intuitive flex elsewhere. These elements combine to create a ski that delivers unwavering grip, a damp and stable ride, and the muscle to crush any snow condition you encounter. With a low stand height of just 17 millimeters, the 2027 Tyrolia Attack 14 offers an impressively close connection to the snow, delivering precise power transmission and a confident, locked-in feel. The FR Pro3 toe piece allows for a full 180 degrees of boot release, enhancing safety in a variety of fall scenarios, while the AFS (Anti-Friction Slider) ensures reliable re-centering and consistent release characteristics. Built to withstand hard use, the Attack 14 combines durability with performance, making it a go-to option for aggressive skiers who demand trust in their gear.

Things to consider:

The Mantra 108 is a highly specialized tool—it’s not a playful or forgiving ski. It favors strong, directional skiing and doesn’t cater to those seeking freestyle flair, buttery turns, or casual cruising. Skiers looking for a versatile, one-ski quiver will likely prefer something more well-rounded.

Fit & sizing considerations:

These ski true to size. Stick with your usual length for maximum stability and top-end performance, or size down slightly if you’re looking to improve maneuverability in tighter zones.
