DESCRIPTION

The 2027 Armada ARV 100 is the standard in playful all-mountain versatility, a freestyle-twin daily driver that pairs a versatile waist width with tip and tail rocker. It can lap anything from pow to park to frontside groomers, which is exactly the point of this ski.

Why we like it:

The ARV 100 is one of the most well-balanced freestyle twins in the all-mountain category. It's not too soft, not too stiff, not too playful, not too damp. Whatever the day brings, this ski has an answer for it.

Who it's for:

Intermediate through advanced skiers who want a versatile, playful all-mountain twin that doesn't pigeonhole them into any one style. Great for daily-driver shoppers, weekend rippers, and skiers who like to mix park, groomers, and off-trail in the same day.

Highlights:

The Poplar core is what makes this ski feel so alive underfoot, with all the snap and rebound you want in a freestyle-leaning all-mountain ski. Ash binding inserts add a hit of stiffness right where you mount up, so the ski stomps landings and drives cleanly through harder turns. The W3DGEWALL injected sidewall construction adds toughness and uniformity to the core-to-sidewall bond without piling on weight, which keeps the ARV 100 nimble. Freestyle Rocker keeps tip and tail rocker for soft-snow versatility and switch performance, with positive camber underfoot for the edge hold you need on harder snow. Impact Edges hold up to rails and ice, the S7 sintered base handles glide, and the whole platform comes together as a smooth, round, do-it-all all-mountain twin.

Things to consider:

The freestyle-twin DNA means this ski leans toward playful rather than charging. Skiers who want a more aggressive, freeride-oriented feel should look at the AntiMatter 100 instead.

Fit & sizing considerations:

Skis true to length. Stick to your usual all-mountain length, or size up if you ski more inbounds and want more stability.

Unlocking high speed aggressive turns on the groomers and then linking in some slashes and jumps brought the experience to the next level. Highly dynamic ski. Recommend.

Did this length feel short, long, or just right? Would you recommend sizing up or down, or does it ski "true to size?" Would you choose this length for yourself?
This is one of the few skis where I didn’t feel like I was missing out by not sizing up. I was very happy on the 179.

What's your first impression of this ski? How did it feel?
First impression was these have a very progressive flex pattern to make some super fun, poppy, playful and responsive turns and obviously they are maneuverable too. What really shocked me about this ski was how stable it actually was once I got it up to speed.
For what type of terrain would you recommend this ski? Why does it perform well in that terrain?
This ski is happiest off-piste but can surprisingly throw down on the groomers and hardpack.
What's the appropriate ability level and/or style for this ski? Why is it appropriate for that type of skier?
Intermediate through expert skiers will all appreciate this ski's capabilities. Experts will want to size up.
Anything else you want to tell us about your experience on these skis?
I got pumped up by this ski. Obviously I knew I’d have fun partying on the sides of the trails and in the bumps, but when I laid it over and got up to speed I was like holy cow, this ski has another level in it! Unlocking high speed aggressive turns on the groomers and then linking in some slashes and jumps brought the experience to the next level. Highly dynamic ski. Recommend.
