DESCRIPTION

The 2027 Armada ARW 84 with Tyrolia Attack LYT 11 GW Bindings is the gateway into the ARW family, an exceptionally tough all-mountain twin that carries freestyle DNA at a friendlier price. Progressing skiers who want one versatile ski for the whole hill will find it an easy fit. We paired the ARW 84 with the Tyrolia Attack LYT 11 GW because of the Attack’s light weight and reliability for all mountain and freeride skiers. Thanks to a 15% reduction in weight, the Attack LYT 11 is the perfect binding option for lighter weight freeriders, and keeps this setup on the lighter side without sacrificing power or performance.

Why we like it:

Forgiving and easygoing, the ARW 84 helps newer skiers stack up confidence run after run. Its twin shape leaves room for creative skiing once the skills arrive, so rather than being outgrown in a season, it tends to grow right alongside the rider.

Who it's for:

Beginner to intermediate women skiers wanting a versatile, durable all-mountain ski with a freestyle streak are the clear audience. It suits skiers on the rise, first-time all-mountain-twin buyers, and value shoppers who still want to roam the whole mountain.

Highlights:

The backbone is a Hybrid Poplar/Composite core, lighter and more approachable than a full wood layup, which is precisely what makes the 84 mm ARW 84 such a capable entry-level pick. Freestyle Rocker raises the tip and tail for soft snow and switch riding while camber underfoot supplies firm-snow grip, and an Impact Edge stands up to early laps in the terrain park. An S7 sintered base looks after glide and longevity, and AR50 sidewalls keep the build rugged enough for a learning skier without piling on weight. Fine-tuned for 2027, the Attack LYT 11 is designed to bring the ideal level of safety and performance to skiers looking for a light weight binding for a wide-bodied all-mountain or freeride ski. The new FR LYT Toe is 15% lighter, and offers a sliding AFD for precise and reliable release as well as plenty of elastic travel. Tyrolia’s SX FR Heel is easy to step into, offering an intuitive and frustration-free experience whether you’re stepping into your skis to start your day, or cleaning up from a pow day yardsale.

Things to consider:

Being lighter and softer than the full-wood ARW skis, this hybrid build has a ceiling. Stronger or more aggressive intermediates may outgrow it sooner than they would the ARW 88 or 94, either of which lasts longer as skills climb.

Fit & sizing considerations:

The ski measures up to its stated length, so the all-mountain size you ride now is the right starting point.
