DESCRIPTION

The 2027 Armada Whitewalker 108 is the slimmed-down member of Sammy Carlson's signature line, an all-mountain freeride ski with ultralight Caruba and carbon construction and 3D-beveled tips and tails. It's a 50/50 ski for skiers who want to charge and play in mixed conditions.

Why we like it:

The Whitewalker 108 brings the Smear Tech magic to a more versatile all-mountain platform. The 3D-beveled tip and tail still smear and shed snow like the wider Whitewalkers, but the tighter waist makes the ski usable in conditions where the 116 would feel like overkill.

Who it's for:

Advanced and expert skiers who want a Sammy-influenced freeride ski that can handle a wider range of conditions than a dedicated powder twin. Ideal for soft-snow regions, big-mountain skiers who want some carving capability, and creative freeride skiers who want a more daily-driver-friendly Whitewalker.

Highlights:

Smear Tech is the signature feature, with 3D-beveled tip and tail profiles that resist catching, self-center in deep snow, and feel uniquely surfy in any direction of travel. The Caruba core keeps the ski light and resilient, and the carbon reinforcement adds snap and torsional stiffness without piling on weight. Lightweight Edges are heat-treated for a snappier, lighter feel, and the Comp Series Base is a sintered UHMW with carbon for glide and durability. Pin Tip & Tail keeps the contact points minimal for a freestyle-friendly feel, and AR75 sidewalls round out a build that's clearly engineered to do everything Sammy wants from an all-mountain ski.

Things to consider:

The Whitewalker 108 still leans freeride and soft-snow. It can carve and handle hard snow, but skiers who spend most of their time on hardpack or want a more carving-focused ski should look at the AntiMatter 92 or 88 instead.

Fit & sizing considerations:

Skis a touch shorter than stated length thanks to the rocker profile. Most skiers can stay in their usual all-mountain length, or size up for more stability.
