2027 Dynastar M-Free 112 F-Team Skis
SKU DAPS101Deep snow days and big-mountain freeride lines are what the Dynastar M-Free 112 F-Team was built for. It's the widest ski in the M-Free family, with a directional twin shape, generous tip and tail rocker, and a poplar and PU hybrid wood core that skips metal entirely. What you get is a ski that floats through fresh snow and stays composed in chop without the locked-in feel a metal-laminated ski would bring.
Why we like it:
The metal-free Hybrid Core 2.0 is what gives this ski its character. Most skis in the freeride competition width range lean on titanal for dampness, but the M-Free 112 gets its calm-yet-poppy ride from the way the poplar and PU layers are arranged, which keeps the swing weight friendlier than the heft-on-the-scale would suggest.
Who it's for:
Advanced and expert skiers who ski real powder and want a freeride competition-style platform without the punishing feel of a fully metal-laminated ski. Especially well-suited to skiers who like to mix big-mountain lines with switch landings and freestyle features. Skiers based at deep-snow Western resorts will get the most out of the float.
Highlights:
Construction starts with Dynastar's Hybrid Core 2.0, which layers poplar wood in three directions and wraps polyurethane around the perimeter for a balanced, eco-conscious build. There's no titanal anywhere in the layup, which is unusual for a ski in this width and intended-use range, but the thicker core profile and unidirectional fiberglass torsion box give it real backbone for high-speed freeride and big drops. The shape pairs a wide shovel with a fat, rockered tail for surfy float and easy release in soft snow, and a longer turn radius than the narrower M-Frees gives it more authority when you point it down the fall line. Full sidewall construction running tip to tail keeps the edge engaged when conditions firm up, and the Sintered HD base glides well across mixed snow. Compared to the older M-Free 118 it ultimately replaced in the lineup, the 112 is a quicker, more agile ski in tight terrain without giving up much float.
Things to consider:
This is a big ski, both in width and weight, and it asks for a confident skier who's willing to drive it with intent. Skiers looking for a lighter, more nimble platform should look at the M-Free 108, which uses the same construction philosophy in a more manageable size.
Fit & sizing considerations:
Sizes about true to length. The big rocker profile means most skiers can comfortably stay at their usual powder-ski length, or step up if they want more stability for big-line skiing.
