2027 Elan Ripstick 84 Skis
SKU ADDMQB26The Ripstick 84 is the narrowest ski in the Ripstick lineup, built for skiers who spend their days at the resort and want a ski that's quick, light, and easy to manage. It carries the same Carbon Deck construction as the rest of the family but in a shape and flex tuned more for groomers and improving skiers than for off-trail charging.
Why we like it:
The light swing weight is a real win at this width. The Carbon Deck build keeps the ski energetic and responsive without making it punishing, which means it's a ski that's genuinely enjoyable for skiers still working on their technique while still being capable enough to keep more advanced skiers entertained.
Who it's for:
Intermediate to advanced skiers who ski mostly at the resort and want a versatile, easy-handling ski that helps them progress. A great fit for skiers building skills who want something that won't fight them on the way up the curve.
Highlights:
Carbon Deck Technology is what makes the Ripstick line feel different, and the 84 benefits from it in a really skier-friendly way. The Tubelite woodcore is paired here with a dual-wood layup for a slightly different flex profile that's softer and more accessible than the wider Ripsticks. Carbon rods add stability and rebound, and UD carbon edge bands keep the edge response sharp without making the ski demanding. The big shift on this model versus the others in the line is the rocker profile: while the wider Ripsticks use Amphibio, the 84 uses an Early Rise Rocker, which lifts the tip just enough to keep turn initiation easy while keeping camber underfoot for grip. SST slanted sidewalls put power straight to the edge and the sintered base makes for fast, smooth glide on the groomers where this ski feels most at home.
Things to consider:
At 84 underfoot this is a frontside ski first and foremost. It can dabble in softer snow and tighter terrain, but if you're chasing storm days or skiing primarily off-trail you'll want one of the wider Ripsticks. It's also a softer, more accessible flex than the wider models, which is great for progression but may feel underbuilt to very strong skiers.
Fit & sizing considerations:
Skis true to size. If you're an improving skier, sizing down a touch makes the ski even easier to manage; stronger skiers can size up for more stability.
